Éric Duhaime
BIOGRAPHY

Éric Duhaime was born in Montreal in April 1969 and spent his childhood in Laval. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Montreal and a master’s degree in public administration from the ÉNAP.

He has held various political positions, including advisor to the leader of the Bloc Québécois from 1993 to 1999; advisor to the Leader of the Official Opposition in the House of Commons from 2000 to 2002; advisor to the leader of the Action Démocratique du Québec (ADQ) from 2003 to 2005; and advisor to the Leader of the Official Opposition in the National Assembly from 2007 to 2008.

He served as a democratic development consultant for the National Democratic Institute in Morocco from 2005 to 2007 and in Iraq from 2008 to 2009. In 2010, he co-founded the Réseau Liberté-Québec (RLQ), an organization dedicated to networking centre-right political circles.

From 2010 to 2020, he was a columnist and host in various Quebec and Canadian media, including the Journal de Montréal and Quebec City, Sun Media, 98.5, Radio X, FM93, etc. It also publishes 4 socio-political essays; l’État contre les jeunes (2011), Libérez-nous des syndicats (2013), La SAQ tire le bouchon (2014), La fin de l’homosexualité et le dernier gay (2017).

In April 2021 he became leader of the Conservative Party of Quebec.
